The Honeymoon!

The Honeymoon, was awesome!  We spent it on the Olympic Peninsula in the Quinault Lodge.  We had originally planned  three nights of camping and only two nights at the lodge but that was easily replaced by relaxing at home and an extra night at the lodge. We were, not surprisingly, very tired after the wedding and I was still feeling like a hit and run victim with that monster cold? flu? sickness? what ever it was, that left me voiceless on my wedding day! But, it all makes for good stories!

We did skip the back packing trip, but at least we hiked the trail up the Quinault River.  One of the most beautiful trails I have been on, but I think it's beauty may have been over shadowed by our adorableness!

This face, epitomizes Corey's easy going character and good nature, and I love it!

We even got in some tree climbing!  You can't tell, but that is me.  Out of the two of us, I'm more of a dare devil!

Played on the beach in the rain!  With matching rain jackets!

The rustic lodge with its very inviting hearth.

The lodge was built in and felt like the 1920s, especially in the mist of a rainy afternoon, we truly felt like we were decades away from everything but each other!

We spent a night in Seattle in the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed in, and went out on the town.  It was fun to have a luxurious, posh element to our honeymoon too!
This was the last day!  Sight seeing and shopping in Seattle! We visited the Frye Gallery and seeing a Corey is a librarian, we couldn't help but stop by  the Library.

Again, the look on his face says it all right? Adorable, sweet, caring, kind, gentle..... and very manly of course, manly and tough!
There is a story for this picture.
Our first evening in the lodge, we decided to go out and have a fancy dinner.  We started to get all gussied up in our room, and this is when I discovered that I had an ugly zit, and the belt of my dress was missing.  with out the belt, the dress poofed in a most unflattering fashion.  I was very distressed, up until that moment, I had been feeling very beautiful (the magic began on my wedding day, I felt sooo beautiful and then just continued to feel so gorgeous!)  But with the appearance of the zit and the disappearance of the belt, I felt the magic fading.  I grew poutey and frantic.  Corey, though, with his down to earth style snapped me out of it pretty quickly by simply asking.  "Well, what do you want to do?"  I responded, "I want to find a substitute for my belt."  He then took his belt, measured the circumference of my waist with it and then took a nail file (the sharpest thing we had in the room) and stabbed a new hole in his leather belt so that it could fit me!  It matched nicely, and I looked cute again!  This is one example of why I love him.
