I met a local artist at an exhibit opening at Guerra's Coffee Shop, the ONLY place in Sunnyside, that shows real art. Props to them, but at the same time isn't it sad that they stand alone? Yes, VERY! Anyway, we are working on that, baby steps.
The kids LOVED it, plus his message was awesome: Gangs stink, art rocks, work hard and listen to your art teacher! What more do you need to say to Sunnyside youth?
Students were transfixed by his edgy urban style.
So fun! what a great day!
