I knew this day would come, but never thought it actually would. I like to just weird out about being 30. I remember how when I was little I always expected to feel different after a birthday and never did, well this time I think it does feel different. I can't tell you how exactly, but I do have a theory. I think there are some definite expectations that go along with finishing up the 20s, like I should be married, and maybe have kids? I should be established and own a house. I should maybe be more accomplished? I should most definitely at least be a grown up! Part of me sheepishly admits that I am none of these things, and then cries "It's too late!". 30 feels final, like there is a line that is crossed, and I am left in the dust. The other half of me however, is deeply relieved that I am not established. There are so many things to do in this world, how can one ever stop to be established? Anyway I can feel twinges of panic when I think about time ticking away and the to do list, and I think this birthday could have sent me into hysteria, but I had to put on a brave face for all the people I invited to dinner. It worked too, I pretended that I was excited to be 30, and viola! I was, I am.
Anyway, I stated out the day going on a wild shopping spree with my sister and her babies! They were so amazingly patient, they survived six hours of shopping! They slept in the car between stores and we had to carry them a lot, but they were fun! The loot was quite bounteous and cheap, because I kept it all second hand! There is nothing like recklessly abandoning your restraint in a store and at the register, finding the damage is only 25 dollars! (Don't worry, I do recognize that this should never be a habit though, no matter how good the deals)
Check out these spoils! 5 dollars shoes! woot woot! The skirt too, was part of the spree!
Then I went to a thai dinner and some friends and family. So delicious! I love that I live in a town that has a thai restaurant! I totally enjoyed this evening and I was happy to be surrounded by so many excellent people!
By the time we finished it was dark, and me Sage and Ben, headed out for a night ride, just 20 miles around the tri-cities! hee hee. It was relaxing and felt just edgy and adventurous enough to be a little thrilling. We ended with a mid-night swim, which is one of my favorite things to do.

Way to enter the 30's with a BANG! Plus, I love the shoes. (o: This will be your decade!
