Maya Lyn and Green Bike

I went for a lovely ride with my friend Chelsea today to Sacajawea State Park. What I love about this park is that here, in the Tri-Cites, we have a genuine Maya Lin monument! Yeah! Maya Lin is one of my art heroines. She is the one who created the Vietnam Memorial, and she did it when she was only 21. In case you want more info.

Check out her Web Site

Here is the info on our very own Maya Lin Piece!

http://youtu.be/YjhOvutbXwk This is an exert from a documentary about Maya Lin, Called Maya Lin; A Clear Strong Vision. I love listening to her talk about her art, but what I really love is that she was in her early 20s at the time!

OK, so Maya Lin amazes me, but the bike stole the spot light during the photo shoot. This is my new, custom made commuter. Yeah, a classic trek touring bike. You can't tell from the picture, but it is Sparkly green, powder coated with a layer of GLITTER! This bike is one of the manifestations of my mid life crisis! Like some people buy themselves a convertible or something.... well, I got a sweet bike.

OH! and Finally I have a bike worthy of this classic Schwinn, sparkly GOLD saddle.....nd my bike has a saddle that is worthy of it's sparkly-ness!

This is Chelsea being sute and showing of socks with Sparkles... that you can't really see. But! They are there!
Ohh, so hot!
We are all together, me , the new bike and Maya Lin. On this, sunny, crisp, autumn day. I always mourn the end of summer, but it is hard to be sad for long with days like these.

  1. How privileged we are! Although, personally, I feel most privileged to be your mom!
